Class: Toothbrush Rugs

Have you seen Aunt Philly‛s toothbrush rugs? They are fun to make with just a simple tool that looks like the handle of a toothbrush. Lengthwise strips of fabric are used to create a rug that matches your quilt. It is durable, washable and the entire process additive. When you come to class, you will learn how to form the stitch and how to increase. After mastering that,

you will learn how to start your own rug. Great fun.

 

 

Project Linus

Project Linus meets in the shop the fi rst Friday of the month. Come to the shop and make friends. They welcome quilts and fabrics as donations. Call the shop to verify meeting times.

Dates: September 5, October 3, November 7, December 5.

Class: Colorful Garden, 3/4 size in Christmas fabrics

Teacher: Debbie Meyer Level: Advanced Beginner Tuition: $24

One session: Monday, November 3; 6:30-9:30 PM

There are two important things happening in this class... you will be making a

wonderful Christmas quilt. The border fabric is a winter scene and kits are

available. You will also be learning a skill that can apply to any quilt... changing

the size of a quilt. The quilt is 3/4 of the size shown in the Thimbleberries

pattern and the changes are easily made using our conversion chart.

 

 

Class: Binding

Teacher: Gail Gregory Level: Beginner Tuition: $24

One session: Saturday, November 8; 9:30-12:30 PM

This is the final step in making a quilt. Binding the edges are important for a nice looking quilt. Learn good basic techniques in this class.

 

 

 

Class: Scalloping your Quilt

Teacher: Lynn Rice Level: Advanced Beginner Tuition: $16

One session: Tuesday, November 11; 6:30-8:30 PM

A simple quilt becomes something special when the edges are scalloped. Add a little romance to any quilt and you will love the results. You come to class with a top ready to mark the scalloping lines.

 

Class: Paper Piecing

Teacher: Gail Gregory Level: Advanced Beginner Tuition: $24

One session: Saturday, November 15; 12:30-3:30 PM

Gail works from a great book with a variety of paper piecing projects. Pick one from this book and learn the basic techniques important in paper piecing. Great skills!

 

 

Class: Precision Piecing

Teacher: Kitty Hynes Level: Intermediate Tuition: $24

One session: Saturday, November 22; 9:30-12:30 PM

“Graduates” of this class rave about their success and we have also seen improvements in accuracy in other classes. There is no specific project for this class but you will learn techniques to apply to other quilting projects.

 

 

Class Policies

Class fees must be paid at the time of registration. If you drop out of a class more than one week before the class, you are eligible to receive a shop credit for the full amount or a refund of 90% of the class fee.  If you drop out of a class less that one week before the class, you forfeit your class fee.  A supply list will be provided when you register or come into the shop to purchase your supplies.  If you register by mail, please provide a self-addressed stamped envelope for the supply list.  When you enroll in a class, basic sewing supplies will be needed.  The use of a rotary cutter is  necessary in many of the classes.  We have cutting mats for your use in the classroom.  May classes also use a sewing machine.  We have Bernina sewing machines in the classroom.  Please notify us at the time of registration if you would like to use one of our machines.  We are also are happy to carry your machine from the car.  We are handi-capped accessible.
